Illustration Friday - Detective

I went to a workshop last week about reconstructed books. I knew them as "deconstructed" but I like the way the former sounds so postitive. Here's the cover I made with red duct tape, magazine collage, and clear packing tape over the whole thing.

I sure did have to play detective to find all the little pieces to make the whole image...

This is where I live...

Here are some pages from my Art House Sketchbook project.

These are on the side of our house outside our kitchen window. Just beautiful!

My current favorite still life is on our mantel.

I  absolutely love my studio!
Yes. I have a raspberry colored wall.
(and these photos are taken on the teal desk I built in my studio)

I love color!

There are a TON of green ones! I'm so excited!
You'll have to come over and help me pick them all!

Thanks for visiting my site. I hope you enjoyed it :)

Garden Sketchbook Cnt

Here's the rest of my garden sketchbook.
It's my veggie garden in the backyard.

There will be more to come though in the days ahead.
I've still got Fall and Spring to do!

Illustration Friday - Linked

(sorry there's such a bad glare! It's already at her house or else I'd take another pic.)

This is a painting a good friend commissioned a while ago that I thought
completely fit this weeks Illustration Friday.
Look like a good "linked" to you?
I love the colors she chose!
It's acrylic on canvas.

Garden Sketchbook

We bought our first house this summer and there were two large (to me) raised veggie gardens in the back yard (about 5x10' each) and two raised flower beds in the front (one is small and the other's really long), I have found that I tell myself "remember to do this next time you plant something"
and then I forget. So I decided to buy a sketchbook just for my gardens.
Now I won't ever forget!

Here are my drawings of what the front gardens looked like when we bought the house last summer.
(I'll show you the veggie garden tomorrow).

I heart Nevr-Dull

These are two collages I made this summer.
They are magazine and then I used Nevr-Dull (a metal polisher found in the Automotive section at Walmart) to give it a worn look.
I love the stuff!

Illustration Friday - Dip

One of my favorite desserts is ice cream. Specifically Cookies and Cream.
That was why my favorite job (before teaching) was working at Beth Maries Old Fashioned Ice Cream
I got to work there for two and a half years. Yes, I was a soda jerk.
It was AWESOME!

So naturally, the first thing I thought of when I saw the Illustration Friday theme
was a double dip of ice cream. Mmmmm good!

Happy Birthday Stamp

I made a birthday card last week and didn't like the font I wrote on the front. I decided I never wanted that to happen again, so I made a stamp.

I then made a birthday card to show you how it stamps...

And now together...

Who knows. You might just be the lucky one who get's this beautiful card!
