It's Official!

SUMMER IS HERE!

I have no official plans, but some how I have an extra long to-do list. But the nice thing is that most of the list is stuff I want to do....like paint, start an etsy shop and refinish an old dresser.

This is my first drawing for the summer.

It's marker on paper inspired by something similar I saw in a magazine.

Illustration Friday - Early

My church baptizes members two times per year.
Once in the spring and once in the fall.

Because we only do it twice a year it's a huge deal ... a Par-tay!

We had the spring baptism this past weekend and there were 220+ people baptized!
They were broken up into small groups (75 groups to be exact this time) and we all got to hear their testimonies before they got dunked. Because there were so many groups, the testimonies were shared at the same time and many people got baptized at once by different people on staff at the church.

We had it at a local park next to a pool. The park has a creek that we used to baptize in, but it's gotten rather dirty lately, so we've started to baptize in the pool. We set out blankets and chairs, sang worship songs, ate and relaxed.

One of my students was baptized, which was really neat to be a part of. And another one of my students in the same class was one of the life guards. Even better!

Then we have a mega celebration!
There are hamburgers and hot dogs, snow cones, bounce houses, a playground and music--all for free! Nothing like celebrating those displaying their love for Christ!

Here are some of my drawings from the party in my Art House sketchbook.

This ties in to the theme of "Early" for Illustaration Friday because my husband and I got there super early to help set up (7:30am...and others were already there before we were. The band arrived at 6am!)

This is Where I Go to Church

Here are the first few pages from the "Where I Go to Work" section of my Art House mini sketchbook.
I enjoyed drawing them while rocking on the porch by the baptism pool that we have outside (see image 2 below)

If you're ever in the area and want to stop by, let me know and we'll go together!

More to come....

Final "Work" Pages

Here are the rest of my pages from the "Where I Work" section of my Art House mini sketchbook.

This last drawing is of my desk in our office.
The rest of them are all of details of my classroom.
I am very lucky to have such a large room. It really makes my job a lot easier.

Illustration Friday - Equipment

Here are the "Where I Work" pages from my Art House mini Sketchbook as promised.
The order in the book has my home first, church, then work, but I was able to finish my work pages first so here you go.
(These are in the same order as the book.)

This is my actual classroom and all the equipment we use.
It couldn't be more perfect for this weeks IF theme!

Because there are so many pages, I'll break it up into a few posts.

Check back again tomorrow for some more!

Mini Sketchbook

Surprisingly enough, I had an extremely slow day at work today so I was able to get a majority of my pages done in my Art House mini sketchbook.

I have broken it up into 3 sections. Where I live, Where I go to church, and Where I work.

I have showed you the beginning pages of where I live in previous posts, so here are the remaining few.

Check back soon to see my interpretation of where I go to church and where I work.

Too Long

It's been too long since I've posted anything.
School's coming to an end so things are super crazy.
So here's a little doodle to express how I feel.

Will you forgive me?
