Illustration Friday - Propagate

The first thing I thought of (after looking up the definition of propagate) was this dandelion.

Then....

...the two gardens in our back yard. They are very large and came with the house. At first there were vegetables growing in them.  Now, after 4 months of neglect and cold weather....not so much. Just weeds. Eh. I'll clean them up during spring break!

(I hope you see it like I do. At first my husband saw a map with palm trees and roads. So I added the fence, mulch and grass. Better?)

Illustration Friday - Adrift

This is a simplified view of our back yard during the crazy Dallas blizzard this weekend. 

After posting it though, I noticed the tree looks like it's right in front of the gate.

Ha ha! It's really not! But the snow was such a site to see. Just beautiful!

In case you hadn't heard...It's been snowing here.
We made a new record yesterday for the most amount of snow in one day!
Drum roll please....

12.5 inches!

Here's a picture of our back yard tree last night.

There was even more snow this morning!

And because of this, school all over the metroplex was canceled today. 

Which means I had lots of free time to work on art!

I love it when that happens!

New Blog Logo

So what do you think about my new logo? Is it readable? Any recommendations on how to improve it?

New Stamp Pads

I bought some new stamp pads this weekend in a myriad of colors and just had
to try them out! So I stamped "my new ink pad yeah" on the page. 

I know. Real creative.

Then I saw the rubber ducky I got a few days ago and thought I'd add that to the mix, but with what?  I saw these small childrens blocks sitting on my desk and got a hankerin' to draw them too. I didn't like the idea of it just being the rubber ducky and I liked the contrast of round duck and square block, so I painted those with watercolor on top of the stamps. I like the double layer effect a lot! You?
