Continuous Line

I'm working with my students right now teaching them different line qualities and variations.

We've talked about contour, implied, expressive, gesture, and continuous line.

Here's my version of what their finished product with continuous contour line should look like.

  1. That's impressive! How old are your students? I remember being amazed at what my daughter could do with an Etch-A-Sketch. It's also a continuous line. Teaching art must be a lot of fun.

  2. My students are 14-18 years old (high school). I never thought of an Etch-A-Sketch being a continuous line! Wow. I might have to go garage sale-ing looking for some to put in my classroom! Yeah, teaching art is a blast (most days :)

  3. Your drawing looks great Nikkie! Brings back the good old days of teaching high school! I actually did have a collection of old Etch-a-sketches in the classroom...it really brings the continuous line idea home! I hope you have a great semester!
